The rising of Puanga is a time of reflection. This year as we reflect on Te Tiriti o Waitangi and what effect it has on our community, the Alexander Library Te Rerenga Mai o Te Kāuru warmly invites you to The Blanket Exhibition Paraikete o Whanganui.

This wonderful exhibition, created by a group of like-minded Whanganui women, gives voice to the call to honour te Tiriti o Waitangi, our nation’s founding document, and the rights of Māori in Aotearoa. Most of the women who have participated in this project had no particular skill with needle and thread or the creative arts, but they have expressed what is in their hearts. Their concerns for the aspirations of their ancestors, their concerns for the future of their mokopuna and the future of Aotearoa.
